Does anyone know exactly how much space does Vista beta 2 take on a clean install?

Vista and hard drive space
If I remember right about 11GB for setup and a little more than half of that when up and running.

That's great because I have a 12 gig and I didn't think it was going to be sufficient.

These figures have been very accurate, but how crowded you get Ryan will depend on how many programs of course that you want to install. If you had a way to make your drive bigger, it'd be nice but you'll sure get it installed and can run it fine--and put key programs on it you want.

500 MBs for temp files Install needs 11.2 GBs Actual hard disk space used by Vista 8 GBs
Its gonna get unstable after a while, lots of you are running out of hard disk space errors. -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

Do you have another disk in your PC - or is this 10Gig the only one?
Roman
Its test pc, I have Vista on 10 gig hdd, and server 2003, on a 20 gig drive. Vista installed is about 6 gig, with swap file and apps, you would need another hdd.

Vista install probably used your 20gig disk for setup files ...

I installed on a 12GB partition, but you should know that your Windows folder alone is going to be 7 GB. If you leave System Restore enabled, that can take up another 1GB. If you have 1GB of RAM, then hiberfil.sys is going to be 1GB in size. Unless you have another drive free for your pagefile, that's going to be another 1.5GB. The point I'm making is that if you can get more than 12GB it would be good. If not, it will work.

My install took roughly 15GB's. Hope this helps you

40GB is recommended with 15GB free. I use 60GB freshly formatted for my installations.
